Level 3 Teaching Assistant – SEN – Stratford-upon-Avon

 

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon

SEN Specialism: Complex Needs, SLD, MLD, ASD etc.

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Ongoing – Full-Time

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm

Pay Rate: £75-£85 per day

 

Job Description:

We are urgently looking for a passionate and hard-working Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a SEN School in Stratford-upon-Avon, to join their team, starting in January on an ongoing basis.

You MUST be able to commute to Stratford-upon-Avon on a regular basis!

This job will require you to assist the teacher in providing an exciting and engaging curriculum, as well as supporting a small number of students who need that extra bit of help to reach their full academic potential. You will be encouraging a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom, which will positively influence the emotional, social and academic development of the children.

This ‘Good’ Ofsted rated SEN School located in Stratford-upon-Avon caters for students aged 3-19 identified with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, however all students must have a learning difficulty as their main barrier to learning. They are committed to providing the best possible education for their students within a caring, friendly and safe environment. They are passionate about providing meaningful and challenging learning experiences that promote personal development, communication and independence.

Ideal Candidate will:

·        Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (essential)

·        Have a minimum of 3 months experience working in an education setting, working with students with Special Educational Needs – Especially Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism (ASD), and Complex Needs.

·        Have experience using communication methods; such as British Sign Language (BSL) and Makaton would be desirable

·        Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered to the update service or willing to pay and apply for a new certificate

·        Have the ability to tailor their skills to meet the needs of each individual child

·        Be kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support
