Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join our dynamic faculty at a prestigious secondary school in Rugby. As an English teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in the field of English language and literature. This is a full-time position with responsibilities ranging from teaching, curriculum development, and student assessment.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality English language and literature lessons to secondary school students, fostering their language proficiency, critical thinking, and literary analysis skills.
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that cater to students’ individual learning needs and interests.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Assess students’ progress through various formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their growth.
Develop and implement creative teaching strategies and resources to enhance student engagement and achievement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest educational practices and methodologies, incorporating innovative teaching techniques into your lessons.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with national standards and the school’s vision.
Actively participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events, fostering strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
Support and mentor students, providing guidance and encouragement to help them reach their full potential academically and personally.
Uphold the school’s policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject will be advantageous.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
Proven experience teaching English to secondary school students, ideally within the UK education system.
Deep knowledge of the English language, literature, grammar, and writing techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively plan and deliver lessons, manage assessments, and meet deadlines.
A passion for education, a commitment to student success, and a genuine interest in fostering a love for English among students.
Technological proficiency and willingness to incorporate educational technology into lessons.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the school’s wider goals and initiatives.
A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
