SEN Teaching Assistant Yr 7-11

Location Cardiff

Start Date ASAP

Full time/Part time

3 Months experience working with children preferred

Twenty4Seven  Education is delighted to offer a new role as SEN Teaching assistant, located in Cardiff. They are looking for an enthusiastic and bubbly individual to support pupils with SEN for years 7-11.

The School 

A large school,  situated in Cardiff, dedicated to helping pupils achieve their full potential over the course of their education. To that end they have  specialist resources for pupils with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and work closely with parents and carers to ensure the best experience for each individual student.

The Role 

The successful candidate will work full-time within the school. This is a term-time role and will be from 8:30 to 15:30 on weekdays excluding school holidays. The successful candidate will be working with pupils with autism spectrum disorder, supporting them throughout their school day and encouraging them to develop academically, socially, and personally.

The key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the pupil with accessing the curriculum
Assisting the pupil with developing academically, socially, and personally
Support the classroom teacher in learning activities and classroom management
Assist in preparing and completing learning activities
Support the pupil on a one-to-one basis and discuss with both the student and teacher ways to further support the pupils.

The successful candidate:

Will be kind, dedicated, and passionate
Will have a minimum of 3 months of experience working within an educational setting
Will have experience working with children with SEN
Will have a good command of the English language
Teaching Assistant qualifications are also desirable but not required.
